Woven: Willow, Reed, & Grasses

This exhibition of artwork is created using natural plant based fibers.  It is unknown how old weaving with plant based fibers is; as natural materials and fibers decay over time.  However, some of the oldest known baskets were discovered in upper Egypt and have been carbon dated to 10,000 – 12,000 years old.  SHAPE Gallery hours: Wednesdays through Fridays 5 pm -8 pm, Saturdays 10am to 4pm.
