From Times Square to Lincoln Square

Good Samaritan Lodge No. 336 will sponsor the New Year’s Eve Celebration on December 31, 2024, on Lincoln Square in Downtown Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This year’s event was in jeopardy of being canceled when previous event organizers opted out of hosting the event this year. Members of Good Samaritan Lodge have stepped up to coordinate the event, and Good Samaritan Lodge No. 336 will be the presenting sponsor this year.

The Gettysburg New Year’s Eve Committee has secured the necessary permits from the Borough of Gettysburg to host the event and has received approval from PennDOT to close the Southern half of Lincoln Square and Baltimore Street from the Square to Middle Street.

This year’s festivities will begin in the late afternoon with a Vendor and Craft Show, to be followed by a Community New Years Eve Party featuring live music performed by local artist and business owner Nick Mich, hosted by DJ Travis, who will be playing music on the square from 9:00 PM to 12:30 AM. This year’s event will feature a jumbo screen projection showing live festivities in Times Square in New York City and a series of planned activities that will culminate in the raising of Abraham Lincoln’s Hat at the stroke of midnight. Several local food truck vendors, including Uncle Moe’s Soul Food, CJ’s Takeout and Late Nite Bites, LFS Latin Fusion, Ziggy Donuts, and Bantam Coffee Roasters have committed to participate in the event. Hot chocolate and water will be provided for free by Good Samaritan Lodge No. 336 in front of the entrance to our building at 9 Lincoln Square. Local restaurants and establishments, particularly those within the street closure, are encouraged to remain open for the celebration. Additional details regarding planned activities will follow and will be made available online.

Donations will be accepted to assist with covering the cost of security for the event, portable restroom rentals, and other event costs. Donations may be made via check, made payable to Good Samaritan Lodge No. 336, located at 9 Lincoln Square, Gettysburg, PA 17325, with the memo line reading New Year’s Eve 2025.
